Dr. Bloom, now Interim President of NJIT, has been a principal actor in the evolution of schools as assistant commissioner in the New Jersey Department of Education (1984-90) and later has been an active innovator as the founding Dean of the Albert Dorman Honors College at NJIT (1998-2011). His perspective has been informed by his active involvement in many University departments at NJIT as the vice president for academic and student services.
